Willpower, Fortitude and Strength

had a briefing session in skool today. as usual, Mike will take d floor, altho at first it was Muzammir who started it, cus Mike got *things to do*. biasala programme leader, mestila busy :o)

and as usual, kena usik dengan muzammir, when he was distributing timetable. he was asking for students class by class, and when it was my class's turn '2D animation, who else 2D animation sem 5? ha tu dia mak cik tu 2D animation' and yes, every newbies (sem 3 students) heads turned to look at me, and my friends were already laughing.

we sem 5 had to stay back after Mike's general briefing (in class no sandals, no toes, no caps, no sunglass, no sleeveless, many meetings with clients so wear properly, a lot of industry work this semester yada yada yada) because they needed to explain out our major projects and electives. Eugene was already warning 2D animation students 'DRAW WELL, or else do not be in dat class, and its for your own sake, or you will suffer', many drawings to do, storyboards also haf to DRAW, unlike Video students they could do collage, or anyhting for storyboard. moodboards, hafto be nicely presented, they laid down the schedule, week 11 is already deadline for proposals and if i'm not mistaken we would already need to have our storyboard, moodboard and prototype by then. and Mike was already like 'get your speed starting at how your speed was during your last 5 weeks of last semester, make up your mind to werk at dat speed, so u won't be left behind, and produce stuffs that can be on air'. on air literally means on tv, for us 2D anime students, video students and 3D anime students. as for interactive students, they might be getting $$$ outta their projects as they can SELL it!! ummpphhh... ni yg best masuk kolej gila glamer macam limkokwing ni, kita pun ada chance glamer sama :op~~~. when Mike says last 5 weeks of last semester, he literally means the hellish weeks of my life. and imagine we hafto start from there...

all these while, although i've painted a nice Adam Levine portait on Canvas using Acrylic (and got A- for it), scoring A's for all my drawing subjects, i'm still not confident to draw. to me i still can't draw well, my hands aren't sturdy and flexi enuff, stiff as broom-stick. but looking at d scenes i posted before which i drew with my very hands, looking back at d photographs of d paintings i did, flipped back my Life Drawing and Analytical Drawing sketch books... i suddenly realise, it came to my senses that 'wow, i can actually draw'. i forgot dat, Art, is very subjective. it really depends on the eye of the beholder. i forgot dat not everything HAS to look perfect, especially in arts. not every eye has to be Hazel in color, not all pair of hands has d same size... u knoe... Art is very beautiful, and i didn't realize until now, dat i DO have flair in arts!!

so right now, i'm setting a deep determination and fortitude. i will take Eugene's challenge, i will DRAW well, i will be GOOD at drawing, and i will haf tonnes of sketch books of my own drawing. already started filling in a sketch book, drew whenever i'm free. practising my hands. and i haf also started practising my handling of Adobe After Effects again, which software is going to be widely used in prosecuting my Major Projects. I'm determined dat I'm gonna be a good painter, animator, creative director. wutever it takes guys, wutever it takes. of the words of my Dad's to my mom when they were in college together, and now, i'm using it, ' I will get that Paper Qualification, even if it KILLS me'.
