Dentists... Tooth... Root Canal.... MONEY!!

it is a well-known fact that many people are afraid to go to a dentist.

i am too.

NO. I'm not afraid of those drillings, extracting, scalling... NOPE. i'm sooo used to go to a dentist. i wore braces (orthodontic treatment) when i was 14. i got big big fillings in my 'weirdly-shaped' (according to one of d dentists i go to) gerahams, and they were filled eversince i was ten, at least 3 of it. i always had to do dat very 'mengilukan' scalling after they took off my braces. so nope, i'm not afraid of the TREATMENTS.

when i was in UTM, i did one crowning. cus one of my weirdly-shaped geraham is so weird dat the filling was gonna too big and the dentist hadta take off the natural crown. i coudln't afford to do a permanent crowning so i did a temporary one. for 5 years, the temporary crowning held still and it came off last 2 years. i was so afraid to tell mom until the tooth actually got very sensitive, i was married then, azam's company would cover part of the payment so i went to do another temporary crowning. but... as it is temporary and i am a ganas-eater, it came off again last year.

as i posted earlier i'm having terrible headache. yeah at first i tot i had it because i'm too tired. when my head felt like exploding until senja, i knew it couldn't JUST be because of exhaustion, then i realize my left cheek is sensitive. hmm... this is gonna be swollen.

had dinner @ tmn warisan which is only 2 minute's drive from home, i couldn't open my eyes properly. ok this is too much. began asking azam if any dentist poens till nite. azam head on to bangi as my mom recommended one dentist dat i do not hafta mention. registered myself and waited for one++ hour, in dat almost snowing (so damn cold) clinic for my turn to come.

when its my turn i explained to d doctor my crowning came off last year, she was giggling, with d nurse. hmm, proffesionals, eh? and i explained it's been crowned 2 times. more gigling, ok, that, is SO NOT PROOFFESIONAL. and she said she'd give me a couple of meds and see if my tooth still hurts, then i should come back (by appointment) to see if need a RCT (Root Canal Treatment) or jest a crowning (u see, being so familiarize with a dental clinic, they didnt hafta explain any of these terms to me). since this is my 1st time at this clinic, i began asking , 'how much is RCT + crowning and how much is crowning alone?'. she answered 'crowning is RM 500, and RCT + crowning will be RM 1k' i was like WADDAFAK? RM1k???? i couldn't recall hearing 1k from the other clinic i always went to. but i still wear a straight face (pretending not to be shocked) and say ok. i went out, waited @ d counter for my meds and to set my apptmnt.

i found out the proffesional giggler isn't a Pakar after all. she couldn't do a RCT/Crowning, i afta meet DR. L who's only available during werking hours. hmm... the nurse (who actually giggled too jest now) gave me my meds and set the apptmnt, i was charged RM 20 JEST to hear em giggling (and d meds, which i doubt would cost more than ten bucks) and i went off.

in d car azam asked how much would d treatment cost, and he was shocked to hear d amount, for he had RCT done, and it was only RM 300 (RCT alone). haiya.. cekik darah. he suggested to go to public dentists, recalling their reputation to be rough and kerek, i cringe to d thougt. so prolly it will cost around RM800 at my usual dentist, i might check it out.

prolly i'll cancel my apptmnt wit this one, and go to my usual dentist. at least they got good-looking doctors and they don't giggle. but wutever it is, all of them tear off my pockets. freaking dentists!!

p/s: if there happen to be any dentist reading this entry, prolly u should give it a tot, y u guys cost so much. i knew equipments, meds are expensive, but does it HAVE to cost SO MUCH?!
